A genetically modified organism (GMO) or genetically engineered organism (GEO) is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. These techniques are generally known as recombinant DNA technology. With recombinant DNA technology, DNA molecules from different sources are combined in vitro into one molecule to create a new gene. This DNA is then transferred into an organism and causes the expression of modified or novel traits.

Genetically modified (GM) foods are foods produced from GMO that have had their DNA altered through genetic engineering. GM foods were first put on the market in the early 1990s. The most common modified foods are derived from plants: soybean, corn, canola cotton seed oil and wheat.

Frankenfoods Are Coming To Get You - Ha Ha!

The Not So Funny Side of Food Manipulation

A potato is a potato is a potato is not it?

Whether you buy a potato from the five pound bag or choose two to bake for tonight's dinner, consider this: rats fed genetically modified potatoes began to show liver damage caused by immune system problems.

A GM sleeping 37 people killed, permanently disable 1500.

A GM maize as "Star" sent hundreds of people in the emergency room with allergic reactions.

Rats GM maize-fed cows have smaller kidneys.

Dairy a genetically modified hormone had increased infections.

Animals fed GM corn developed blood problems : Leukemia, hypertension, kidney and liver, allergies to infections, high blood sugar levels and even cancer.

At least 70% of all processed foods in the United States contain some genetically modified ingredients. If you see corn flour or meal, dextrin, starch, soy sauce and margarine on the label, which are almost certainly be amended as follows more than 80% of the soy and 40% of the corn in the U.S. is already a GM variety. More and more cereals, edible oils, chocolate, farm-raised salmon, soda, baby food, cereal and even frozen foods contain one or more GM ingredients.

Jekyll or Hyde?

A GMOs is a genetically modified organism as a gene from a totally unrelated species, the edges or injected into the genetic make-up of another species.

Here are some examples of GMOs that have been grown in the United States:

Rat and human genes in trout

Spider genes in goats

Human genes in corn or rice

Mouse and human genes in potatoes

Fish genes in tomatoes

Cow or human genes in liver salmon

Human gene in the gene rice

What mixtures in GMO's in our cultures and our food produced? This "supergenes" require more pesticides and herbicides more residues in their edible parts as normal food. What does this mean? If you eat GM's, you ingest more pesticides: how Roundup.

Who will own your meal?

All GMOs are patented life forms. The company that makes them. If the pollen from one of these modified plants, drifts to your crops, the owner can inspect your property. If they GMOs in your harvest, they can demand the payment of licence fees.
plants, with "terminator technology" and "monopoly patents will produce sterile seeds. The farmers will not be able to use seeds from one harvest for the following years production. This will force farmers to buy seed of the patent holders each year, creating a monopoly.

Monsanto recently for the patent on the 'pig' .

An American company tried to a patent on Indian Neem Tree seeds. The patent was revoked.

Monsanto owns the patents and distribution rights to 91% of genetically modified seeds in the world.

It's not nice to fool Mother Nature!

In manufacturers and scientists rush to see what they can and patents, there were more time and energy spent to manipulate access to results. Oops! These GMOs caused allergic reactions, a disease that causes more, this affects the immune system this is a kills.

We thought that the words "Gone with the Wind" was the name of a historical novel. Given the risks of GMO's untested dissemination of pollen, wind, birds, insects and human failure that title could be for our health, food supply world - including our lives.

Already 30 other countries have or are planning to GMO ban Cultures, many of the genetically modified foods are extended to all food labels. The United States does not require labelling of genetically modified foods and continues to support GM development.

If You are all concerned that your potatoes, ketchup, corn baking mix, bag of cookies, breakfast cereals, vegetable oil, soy burgers or rice , Contains manipulated, engineered and genetically modified organisms, you should. They do.

For time, your only alternative is organically grown foods and grass-fed meat: no pesticides, seeds of plants that are created by nature rather than a company, and standards that are in place for security, not profit .
