A genetically modified organism (GMO) or genetically engineered organism (GEO) is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. These techniques are generally known as recombinant DNA technology. With recombinant DNA technology, DNA molecules from different sources are combined in vitro into one molecule to create a new gene. This DNA is then transferred into an organism and causes the expression of modified or novel traits.

Genetically modified (GM) foods are foods produced from GMO that have had their DNA altered through genetic engineering. GM foods were first put on the market in the early 1990s. The most common modified foods are derived from plants: soybean, corn, canola cotton seed oil and wheat.

Organic Foods

In your quest for health, I'm sure by now you have heard of

organic food is allowed. There are many different ways to define

? Organic?. From October, 2002, the USDA has a

certification for all organic foods, defined as the Wikipedia

following:

? Organic certification is a certification process for producers

organic food and other organic agricultural products. In

general, all companies directly involved in food production can

-certification, including seed suppliers, farmers, food --

processors, retailers and restaurants. Requirements vary from

one country to another, and usually a series of production --

standards for the cultivation, storage, processing, packaging and

postage, to:

? Avoidance of synthetic chemical products (eg fertilizers,

pesticides, antibiotics, food additives, etc.) and genetically

modified organisms;

? Use of agricultural land, free from chemicals for a series

years (often three or more);

? keep detailed written production and sales records (audit

-Trail);

? maintaining strict separation of organic products

from non-certified products;

? in the periodic on-site inspections.

Certified organic producers are also subject to the

agriculture, food security and other government regulations that

apply to non-certified manufacturers. In a position to the floor

"organic" on a food product is a valuable marketing advantage in

today's consumer market. The certification is necessary to protect

consumers against misuse of the term, and make the purchase organic

easy. However, the organic label by allowing

certification itself usually requires explanation.

In the U.S., federal organic law defines three levels of

organics. Products, with certified organic whole of --

ingredients and methods can be labeled "100% organic". Products

with 95% organic ingredients may use the word 'organic'. Both

with at least 70% organic ingredients may be labeled

products, with less than 70% organic ingredients may not

advertise this information to consumers and can only mention

this fact the product of the ingredient statement. Similar

percentages and apply labels in the EU. Wikipedia-

Things have changed in the field of organic foods and

we should be encouraged, but cautious at the same time. The

words? Natural? and? authentic? will be put on labels of foods

and supplements, and should not be misunderstood as? Organic?.

This will be said that we must carefully into the learning of facts

and read the labels very carefully! As you will see very

soon, if not already, some of the commercial store chains

begin to tout her? Organic? Sections, but do not forget

read the labels. Often there is no clear separation

certified organic food and commercial food in these stores.

Super Wal-Mart Stores also announced last month that they

significantly expand their organic products at the national level. We shouldn? T are

surprised that since the 15 billion U.S. dollars organic industry has

grown at least 20% annually for the past 15 years, after

of the Organic Trade Association. "The consumer awareness and demand

is now there, "says Howard Solganik, a consultant." The big

retailers now believe they can sell reasonable quantities of

organics. "

These changes can be a long time organic grocery chain Whole Foods

executives excited yet worried. "This is the latest sign that

we have no fad, "says Walter Robb, co-president of Whole Foods

185 stores in 30 states. But he adds: "They are chasing our

shadows. We will not be tomorrow what we are today. "He can be very

prove to be correct. If consumers start buying in commercial transactions

think that their new? Organic sections? all foods are safe,

May, they sorely mistaken. The incentive to buy at the

commercial transactions is obvious. There are more of them and on the basis

to their high volume, they are able to get better deals on

pricing. The problem is, these stores will most cases

buying products from large manufacturers, which are also trying to

cash in on growing demand for healthy foods.

This means you may see more natural? Wonder bread? Type

products, so make sure you are reading labels

ensure that these products still line up with what your body

needs. As an example, I tell patients to eat wholemeal bread

, but many types of bread out there are labeled as wheat, but still

enrich and bleach their flour, so you need to read the labels

carefully and search for those keywords.

enrichment includes the stripping of more than 40 vitamins and

minerals back, while three B-vitamins and iron,

rule. Hardly enrichment by my definition! Bleaching is

just as it sounds, pouring bleach into the dough. The food

industry may be as many reasons as they wanted to explain why

bleach it, but the truth is, his BLEACH! Would you for him to

your full dinner plates at home? Again, these loaves, saying,

they are on? Wheat? May use hydrogenated oil and high

fructose corn syrup. Hydrogenated oil is the worst oil you

could your body and high fructose corn syrup is not much

different chemically absorbed when the body than white sugar or

sucrose.

I know you are an exceptional quality, and I welcome

you! Make sure that all information in this article

heart. This info is true together with you to prevent your

body does not, then apply them in your lifestyle! Keep the

good job, and I will confine myself to you again soon.

We live in the world that’s so enamored by this skewed perception of beauty. A world where the media portrays “beauty” as something that has lost almost all sense of the word itself. This sad reality has pushed millions of people worldwide to go on crash diets and unhealthy lifestyles just because of what they see on TV, hear on the news or watch in the movies… Thankfully, we’re also slowly starting to come to our senses and among the more recent wave of wave in those that are conscious about their health are those that are shifting to organic food supplements.
